St. Nicholas Home, Penang: Wellness Centre Opening
XL Malaysia is proud to support St. Nicholas' Home, Penang, as our nominated charity and Non Governmental Organization.
St. Nicholas's Home is the premier home and training centre for the visually impaired in Malaysia for the last 82 years, since 1926.


St. Nicholas' Home, Penang, http://www.snh.org.my/ officially opened their Wellness Centre to the public on 6 May, 2008. This event was officiated by T.Y.T. Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang, T.Y.T. Tun Dato’ Seri Utama (Dr.) Haji Abdul Rahman Bin Haji Abbas.


Members of XL Malaysia came to grace this occasion which has far reaching implications to the society's perception of the blind and their ability to be independant, employable, contributing members of society.

The Wellness Centre provides the public with services to refresh and rejuvenate, such as body massage, foot reflexology, Shiatsu, and is a training center for persons with visual impairment to learn skills and become fully certified as professional masseurs.


The vision of St. Nicholas's Home is of a nation that is free of barriers, where blind and visually impaired persons are not discriminated against; enjoy the same rights and responsibilities, share equal opportunities and a quality of life that is available to their sighted peers.

The mission of St. Nicholas's Home is to provide education, training and employment opportunities within a caring environment, thus empowering blind and visually impaired persons to fully participate in society while helping to promote the prevention of blindness.
